Setting up Outlook 2003 for Windows.

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2003.
  2. Select Tools -> E-mail Accounts from the menu.

  1. From the “E-mail Accounts” window, select “Add a new e-mail account” and click “Next”.

Add a New E-Mail Account

  1. Select “POP3” from the menu that appears and click “Next”.

POP3 Server Type

  1. Under “User Information”, enter your name and email address in the space provided.
  2. Under “Server Information”, enter mail.idmi.net for both the incoming and outgoing mail server.
  3. Under “Logon Information”, enter your full email address in the “User Name” field, and enter your password in the “Password” field.
  4. Click the “More Settings” button.

Internet E-Mail Settings

  1. In the window that appears, click on the “Outgoing Server” tab.
  2. Check the box next to “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”.
  3. Make sure that the “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” option is selected.

Outgoing Server Authentication

  1. Click the "Advanced" tab.
  2. Change the "Outgoing server (SMTP)" port from "25" to "587".
  3. Click “Next” and then click “Finish”.
